Visiting Dumaguete City

I will be visiting Dumaguete either this week or the week after. I need to process my TOR for my work and I will also be renewing some papers as well. I hope to see my old friends.

I'll probably be going to my favorite spots as well...too bad my camera is destroyed. There must be something wrong with the battery. I don't know why it's not charging now...sigh!

GOODBYE TO SILLIMAN UNIVERSITY LANDMARKS

I can't believe they actually did this!!! First, Silliman STEDS and now this!
I have no more words to say but rubbish!

The information below is from Kuya Moses Atega:

To give way to the construction of the main building of the College of Nursing on Silliman University Campus, this Missionary Home originally the dwelling of one of the world's pioneer in Science Research particularly on Myrmecology DR. JAMES W. CHAPMAN and his wife Ethel and children. Most recently the residents of the Faculty Ladies II vacated this home and they are now with Abby Jacobs Hall.

They erased history: DOLTZ HALLERS' FREEDOM WALL is gone! Without the sensitivity, they "cleaned-it-up" and Doltz Hall alumni are reacting. It's back as a boring wall. A favorite campus landmark is gone! The wall made Silliman so cool and a lot of education leaders were actually learning from its sense of purpose.

Missionary Homes at Silliman University are part of the National Historical Heritage but they are totally erased on the surface of the Earth without proper documentation.

What are they going to destroy next!?
